Join to apply for the Sign Designer and Graphics role at SCA Sign Group, LLC.

We are looking for a candidate who has prior experience in the signage and printing industry. We are NOT looking for website designers or developers. If you DO NOT have any experience in signage or printing industry, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY. We have an immediate opening for a full-time Production File Manager who is driven, able to multitask, and has a great attitude and strong work ethic. Candidates must also have an attention to detail, a creative mind and a modern aesthetic. A self-starter is a MUST!

Responsibilities:

• Review incoming artwork, create design layouts and proofs, and create production files with accuracy for CNC router, vinyl plotter, large format printer, and laser cutter for signs and printing.
• Work closely with sales staff to develop sign and architectural designs for clientele, including but not limited to: interior sign packages, way-finding (pedestrian and vehicle), monument/pylon architectural pieces, and large-scale tower/building identifiers.
• Collaborate with production staff to develop structural details and draft production-ready art for previously designed (internally or externally) signs/architectural pieces.
• Assist with walk-in counter sales when needed.
• Production experience with large format printer, vinyl plotter, lamination, and rolling application table is a plus to assist when production workload is heavy.
• Understand various permit drawing requirements for the City of Houston and surrounding areas and must have the ability to produce effective permit drawings.
• Logo design experience is a must.

Skills and Attributes:

• Ability to keep track of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Extensive experience with vector art generation – Adobe Illustrator preferred.
• Must have an eye for creating up-to-date sign designs and trends.
• Knowledge of sign construction, metal fabrication, digital print media application, and signage lighting layouts.
• Good, above-average language skills (spelling/grammar; written/verbal communication).
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills are critical.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Able to meet deadlines set by sales team and customers.
• Knowledgeable on the effective use of typography, colors, and visual space.

Technical Skills:

• 2+ years of experience as a graphic designer in the signage and printing industry.
• Firm knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience in Flexisign is a plus.
• Knowledge of Pantone and Spot colors and color profiles is a plus.
