Job summary

NSA's Linguists, known as Multidisciplined Language Analysts (MDLAs), support the SIGINT mission by translating, transcribing, and analyzing foreign language materials for policymakers and the Intelligence Community.

MDLAs may participate in the Language Analysis Development Program (LADP) or be hired directly into analytic offices. A minimum ILR level of 2/2 in reading and listening, plus relevant experience, is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum ILR level 2/2 in reading and listening for the target language.
• At least one year of relevant language or related experience.
• For Full Performance and Senior levels, additional leadership experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, transcribe, and translate key information for policymakers and IC customers.
• Research and understand cultures and geopolitical context relevant to NSA SIGINT.
• Apply new analytic techniques to synthesize data from multiple sources.
• Mentor, coach, and lead other Language Analysts and ensure technical health of the mission.
