Job summary

Valknut is seeking a Controls Engineer for Wixom, MI and Romulus, MI to support machine build, integration, and commissioning. Start with shop debugging in Wixom and extend to on-site installation in Romulus, with heavy second shift and holiday work.

Candidates should have Siemens PLC expertise (TIA Portal V15.1, S7-1500) and PanelView experience, plus an automotive background and GM Powertrain standards familiarity. Willingness to travel locally and work long weeks is required.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal V15.1) and S7-1500 processors.
• Experience configuring PanelView HMIs.
• Automotive manufacturing background; GM Powertrain standards preferred.
• Willingness to work 6–7 days per week, 2nd shift and holiday periods.
• Ability to provide shop-floor and field support during installs and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Perform PLC programming, debugging, and line integration using Siemens platforms.
• Configure and troubleshoot HMI/PanelView interfaces.
• Provide active shop-floor and field support during machine install, runoffs, and commissioning.
• Support operations on 2nd shift and during holiday schedules.
