Job summary

UC San Diego Health's Surgical ICU seeks an experienced RN to provide high‑quality patient care in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment in San Diego, CA. You will identify and implement nursing interventions, collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and therapists, and support patient outcomes through evidence‑based practice.

Required qualifications include California RN license, BLS/CPR and ACLS on hire, ART and PALS within 6 months, and ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license; BLS/CPR and ACLS at time of hire; ART within 6 months.
• Current PALS certification, or obtain within six months of hire.
• Two years of recent acute care adult Surgical, Trauma, or Neuro ICU RN experience; 2+ years in other ICU if pool limited.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement nursing interventions in SICU and evaluate results.
• Direct and resource other nursing staff as assigned.
• Promote compliance with policies and foster professional relationships.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team and handle urgent situations with tact.
