Job summary

Penn Medicine, part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, is seeking a full-time CNA to join the SICU nursing team at Pennsylvania Hospital. The CNA will assist with daily patient care, participate in RN/CNA handoffs, and help ensure a safe, compassionate environment for critically ill patients.

Under RN supervision, the CNA will gather and report patient data, respond to calls, and support the unit in achieving quality care and patient family comfort.

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) required.
• CNA certification by the State of Pennsylvania or RN without a BSN degree.
• HS Diploma or GED required; BSN coursework preferred.
• Matriculated in an accredited BSN program is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate patient care with active listening and safety as a priority.
• Participate in RN/CNA handoffs and unit huddles.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and mobility.
• Respond to patient calls and provide timely information and comfort.
• Document observations and vital signs as directed by nursing staff.
• Support quality and safety initiatives and patient experience.
