Job summary

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) on the James SICU team works closely with the registered nurse to deliver patient-centered care. The role focuses on outcomes, safety, family involvement, and efficient care delivery within a fast-paced surgical ICU.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, prior acute care experience preferred, and complete PCA training after hire. The position is based at The James Cancer Hospital with regular rotating shifts and comprehensive OSU benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; PCA training after hire required.
• Previous patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and supportive services as part of the care team.
• Maximize the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care.
• Collaborate with Registered Nurse and other care team members.
