SIC Pipe Welder (COLA ERG DP)

Job Summary:

Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Combo Welders for a project in Columbia, SC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal, machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
2. Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
3. Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
4. Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
5. Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
6. Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
7. Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked.
8. Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
9. Certification at one or more levels is required.
10. Regular attendance is required.
11. Perform other duties as required.
12. Perform safety inspections of work area, equipment, and tools, in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards. Resolve discrepancies found through inspections.
13. Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
14. Observe SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
15. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

1. Work in various environments including office, shop, traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and weather conditions. Must access all property areas safely.
2. Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
3. Move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
4. Respond to voice commands, alarms, and noises.
5. Use all required PPE equipment effectively.
6. Perform strenuous physical activities including standing, bending, working on ladders, and awkward positions.
7. Operate all involved equipment and tools safely.
