SIC Grounds Laborer/FT (GE AERO WILM)

Job Summary:

Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Grounds Laborer for an ongoing site in Wilmington, NC. This is an ongoing assignment. Candidates hired will be considered for benefits and paid time off after 3 months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Building chain link fences on industrial sites
2. Industrial painting around the facility
3. PCV pipe work in the plumbing department
4. Assembling furniture and other carpentry duties
5. Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms
6. Level earth to fine grade specifications using pick and shovel
7. Mixing concrete with portable mixer
8. Smoothing and finishing freshly poured cement or concrete
9. Applying paint or bituminous compounds for surface protection
10. Spraying materials like water, sand, or paint to clean or seal surfaces
11. Applying caulking compounds to seal crevices
12. Grinding, sanding, or polishing surfaces with abrasive tools
13. Performing various tasks involving hands and tools, including demolishing, sawing, dismantling forms, and mounting pipe hangers
14. Observing SIC/Client safety procedures at all times
15. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment
16. Performing other duties as required

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

• Work in various environments with exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and weather conditions
• Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
• Move in confined spaces and uneven areas
• Hear and respond to voice commands and alarms
• Use all required PPE equipment effectively
• Perform strenuous physical tasks including standing, bending, working on ladders, and in awkward positions
