Job summary

The Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a SIAP Behavior Technician to join the District SEBH Team. The 7.5-hour day schedule corresponds to a part-time hourly position with a 189-day calendar.

  • May support BIP as students transition back to their home school
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Under direction of professional staff, work with students individually or in group settings
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for students with challenging behaviors, including modeling and coaching building level staff who work with the student
  • Works collaboratively with the district SEBH Interventionist Specialist and building SEBH Interventionist to implement students Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Collect and graph data and make progress notes for students with behavioral needs
  • Collaborate on a team for determining effective strategies for students with Tier 3 plans

The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the classroom including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing, in movement while supervising indoor and outdoor activities, etc. The employee will usually work in indoor temperatures but will work outdoors when assisting students outside of the classroom.
