Job summary

The University of North Georgia is seeking a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Peer Facilitator on the Cumming Campus. This part-time, temporary role supports students by leading peer-assisted study sessions and promoting collaborative learning to help students improve academic performance.

Responsibilities include guiding SI sessions, attending lectures with students, and preparing materials. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to student success are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Completed targeted courses at UNG with a B or better
• Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications may still be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead SI sessions two times per week for the assigned course using collaborative activities and active learning strategies.
• Hold office hours and attend lectures with students to relearn content and promote SI.
• Plan SI sessions by creating an agenda and preparing worksheets or other resources.
• Staff development activities including orientation, bi-weekly meetings, and mentor meetings.
