Job description

This posting will remain open to generate a pool of qualified student applicants for available positions during the semester. The SI Leader will assist students in academic achievement by working closely with faculty, attending classes, and holding SI sessions to review and reinforce course content. This program is a supplement to teaching and independent study. The SI Leader position reports to the Director of Academic Success Centers as well as the faculty and department they are supporting.

Responsibilities

• Attend class and model effective classroom behavior.
• Conduct regularly scheduled one-hour group study (SI sessions) 2 to 5 times a week.
• Integrate study strategies with course content.
• Maintain regular and accurate records of SI sessions using the Navigate online program.
• Develop and maintain relationships with professors, student participants, and SI staff.
• Work some hours in the Tutor Center for students who cannot make scheduled session times.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled student and registered for classes.

Preferred Qualifications

No additional qualifications are required; however, interest in teaching and instruction is a plus.

Salary

$12.00 per hour.
