Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Shuttle Driver to support Starlink operations in Woodinville and Redmond, WA. The role involves safe transportation of employees and cargo, routine vehicle maintenance, and adherence to schedules.

You will support route planning, load handling, and incident reporting while ensuring passenger safety and comfort. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid license, 1+ year of passenger driving experience, and strong customer-service skills.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • 1+ years of professional experience driving people in a commercial setting or 6+ months contracting driving experience at SpaceX.
  • Valid driver's license with clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

  • Transport people between locations in a shuttle.
  • Safely load and unload cargo as needed.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and refuel/recharge when low.
  • Monitor vehicle service records and report issues.

SHUTTLE DRIVER (STARLINK)

At SpaceX, we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 12M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together.

The Shuttle Driver position will provide essential transportation services at the Woodinville and Redmond, WA locations. Providing safe pick-up, transportation, and drop-off of SpaceX employees and their cargo while maintaining a punctual schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Transport people in a shuttle between locations
  • Safely load and unload cargo as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring shuttle contents are secured for safe and undamaged delivery to destination
  • Avoiding high-traffic and accident-prone routes, where possible
  • Monitor service records of the vehicle when driving and report all problems to manager immediately
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of vehicle and refueling/recharging when low
  • In case of emergency contact immediate supervisor and provide detailed information to remedy issue
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of professional experience driving people in a commercial setting OR 6+ months of contracting driving experience at SpaceX
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
Preferred Skills And Experience
  • Class B CDL passenger endorsement
  • 2+ years of professional driving experience
  • Professional experience driving people
  • Outstanding knowledge of applicable transport and safety codes
  • Experience with route planning
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong customer-service background
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and clean DMV record
  • Ability to work all required hours and off-shifts with minimal notice. Estimated shift time: 5:00AM to 3:30PM
Compensation And Benefits

Pay Range:

  • Level 1: $22.50
  • Level 2: $23.50
  • Level 3: $24.50

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
