Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Delivery Systems Specialist - Driver to support Starlink production logistics in Redmond, WA. You will load, deliver, and unload materials between Redmond and Woodinville, with occasional long-haul trips to TX.

The role requires a CDL-A and experience in short and long-haul driving, forklift operation, and barcode scanning. You will ensure safe, on-time delivery, manage documentation, and maintain equipment and driving records while supporting a fast-paced manufacturing

DELIVERY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST - DRIVER

At SpaceX, we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 12M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact, and that work starts here with the Materials Management team.

The Delivery Systems Specialist position directly supports our Starlink production factory. As Starlink grows, we are expanding our delivery andlogisticsoperations for satellites and ground station antennae. This roleis responsible forcompleting bulk pick-ups, loading, and delivery duties between our Redmond and Bastrop offices, as well as a variety of Vendors and Suppliers along the way. This is a critical position to the mission of global connectivity, ensuring that building materials and components are delivered to production consistently, safely, and reliably.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load, drive, and unload manufacturing, test, and support items between Redmond, WA and Woodinville WA
  • Occasionally help with long haul OTR drives from WA to TX
  • Operate commercial vehicles including tractors, 53-ft trailers, vans, and flat-beds meeting all federal, state, and local transportation requirements and regulations
  • Safely load trucks at pickup points and transport truckload to destinationfollowing the rules of the road at all times
  • Safely load and unload trucks at designated drop-off points
  • Forklift use will be the primary method of loading and unloading trucks
  • Ensure truckload contents are secure for safe and undamaged delivery to the destination
  • Scan barcodes meeting business WMS requirements
  • Contribute to Receiving, Material Handling, and Inventory operations within the Distribution Center and across SpaceX as needed
  • Take driving route origin-destination direction from the internal fleet supervisor and communicate any issues with the immediate supervisor and/or affected parties as needed
  • Maintain and review all applicable documents (paperwork) related to items being delivered to ensure they are not damaged during delivery
  • Monitor service records of the vehicle when driving and report all problems to the managerimmediately
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and refueling when low
  • Maintain a safe driving record
  • Able to operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) to track miles

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • 2+ years of experience in short haul commercial driving
  • 1+ years of experience in long haul commercial driving

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in expediting or material handling
  • Experience with barcode scanning to document material movement
  • Experience working withaircraftor automotive parts and assemblies
  • Experience operating a forklift and/or material-handling motorized vehicles and equipment
  • Experience driving for a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Counter-balance sit-down forklift experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work long hours and weekends as needed based on production schedule
  • Ability tolift upto 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to obtain a Hazardous Material Endorsement (HME) for Class A CDL license holders
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying aregenerally requiredto perform the functions of this position
  • Must be willing to work in an open-aired environment, lacking temperature controls

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:
Level 1: $29.00 - $34.00
Level 2: $32.00 - $40.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
