Job summary

ABM Industries in Tampa, FL is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport passengers to and from designated locations, including airports and campus facilities. No diploma required; on-the-job training provided, and CDL may be required for certain routes.

You will ensure safe loading/unloading, assist riders with special needs, perform vehicle inspections, keep the shuttle clean, log fuel use, and deliver courteous customer service throughout each shift.

Qualifications

• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• CDL with a specific class and endorsement may be required for some routes.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload passengers at designated locations.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading including wheelchair lifts and tie-downs.
• Help passengers load and unload luggage as needed.
• Inspect vehicles for safety and perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Meet patrons needing assistance at airport locations and lots.
• Inspect shuttle for preexisting damage and record information.
• Provide excellent customer service and give directions.
• Maintain and enforce bus evacuation plans and coordinate evacuations.
• Report incidents to Operations Manager or Shift Lead.
• Refuel and maintain shuttle equipment and fuel use logs.
• Maintain a clean work environment and disinfect shuttle after each use.
• Perform pre- and post-inspections to ensure proper operation and safety.

Overview

The Shuttle Driver drives passengers to and from assigned locations. Depending on the contractual need this could be around or near an airport, commercial building, hospital, sports arena, entertainment venue, educational facility or warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload passengers, providing daily transportation services at designated pick-up and drop-off locations
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of passengers, including the safe operation and handling of specialized equipment for unloading passengers with special needs (i.e. wheelchair lifts and tie-downs)
• Help passengers to load and unload luggage as needed
• Inspect vehicles on a regular basis to find any unsafe conditions or maintenance issues; perform routine cleaning and bus maintenance activities
• Meet patrons needing assistance to and from various airport locations and lots
• Inspect shuttle for preexisting damage record information using electronic device or manual ticket
• Provide excellent customer service to guests; respond to guest inquiries in a courteous manner, give directions to nearest highway, destination, etc.
• Maintain and enforce bus evacuation plan and coordinates bus evacuation activities as appropriate
• Immediately reports any incidents or claims to Operations Manager or Shift Lead
• Refuel and maintain shuttle equipment and fuel use logs
• Maintain a clean work environment, disinfecting shuttle after each use
• Performs pre-inspection and post-inspection activities to ensure proper operating conditions, adherence to prescribed Department of Transportation standards, and compliance with proper safety standards

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• No experience required and on the job training provided
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required
• This role may require a CDL with a specific class and endorsement requirement

Preferred

• One (1) year of prior work experience as passenger shuttle driver is preferred
