Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
  • Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
  • Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license to be carried while on duty.
  • Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
  • Assist customers by answering questions and directing them to the Facility Manager when necessary.
  • Report accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
  • Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc., to the garage office.
  • Substitute for Cashiers or Valets, when necessary, if authorized.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.
  • Assist customers with luggage and other traveling items, if applicable (e.g., operating shuttle buses at an airport location).
  • Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
Qualifications

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience Required: Less than High School education or one month related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

License Requirement: Required to have and maintain a valid state driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.

DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends may be a requirement.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

Appearance: Employees will be required to maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle cash and equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Salary Range: $18.50-$20.50/hr (+ tips)

This role is eligible to earn tips in addition to the posted hourly rate.

As a PDOT Shuttle Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and timely transportation for our guests and customers. You will be responsible for operating a shuttle bus on designated routes, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the shuttle.

  • Operate a shuttle bus on designated routes, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Greet guests and provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, giving directions, and adhering to guest requests.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure a safe transportation experience for all passengers.
  • Keep the shuttle bus clean and well-maintained, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other team members to ensure a seamless operation.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CT License with an F Endorsement (MASS License only requires a valid medical card).
  • Valid Medical Card.
  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with passengers and team members.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
