Job description

Shuttle Driver PDOT $16.32 per hour

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic Function: Responsible for the proper and safe operation of shuttle buses and transporting passengers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
  2. Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
  3. Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license to be carried at all times while on duty.
  4. Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
  5. Assist customers by answering questions and directing them to the Facility Manager for further assistance if necessary.
  6. Report known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
  7. Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. to the garage office.
  8. Substitute for Cashiers or Valets when necessary, if authorized.
  9. Have thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.
  10. Assist customers with luggage and other travel items, if applicable (e.g., operating shuttle buses at an airport location).
  11. Assist Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience Required: Less than High School education or one month related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

License Requirement: Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record. (CDL may be required)

DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. Availability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the company.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.

Appearance: Employees will be required to maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times.
