Job summary

FedEx Corporation in Louisville, KY is seeking a shuttle operations worker for overnight hours to support early morning departures and ensure timely handling of air and ground shipments. Load and unload packages from aircraft and vehicles, sort items, and perform shuttle duties with a non-articulated vehicle; other duties as assigned.

Must meet FMCSA safety regulations and complete basic and currency training. Effective communication in a noisy environment is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages above 50 lbs with equipment/assistance.
• Ability to work with power and hand tools.
• Must meet FMCSA section 391 qualifications.
• Effective verbal communication in a noisy environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and directions.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

Performs shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle; to load and unload aircraft/vehicles; to sort packages. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Ability to work with power and hand tools. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Effectively communicate verbally in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Requires medical exam in accordance with FHWA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be licensed for type of equipment assigned.

Pay Transparency

Pay: $21.24/hr.
