Job description

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Basic Function: Responsible for the proper and safe operation of shuttle buses and transporting passengers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
  • Be present at work every scheduled day, on time, and in uniform.
  • Carry a valid state-issued driver's license at all times while on duty.
  • Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
  • Courteously assist customers by answering questions and directing them to the Facility Manager if needed.
  • Report accidents, violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
  • Notify garage office of debris, water, oil spills, etc.
  • Substitute for Cashiers or Valets when authorized and necessary.
  • Have thorough knowledge of garage areas, major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the vicinity.
  • Assist customers with luggage and travel items, especially at airport locations.
  • Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification Requirements: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The listed requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed.


Education/Experience: Less than High School education or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination.


License: Must hold and maintain a valid CDL Class A, B, or C Driver's License, with Passenger Endorsement if operating shuttles with 15 or more passengers, per DOT Regulations.


Availability: May require working various shifts, including 3rd shift and weekends, depending on location needs.


Language Skills: Ability to read, understand, and communicate simple instructions, memos, and information effectively.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations with numbers and currency.


Appearance: Maintain a neat, professional appearance and wear the complete uniform at all times.


Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, walk, handle equipment, reach, talk, hear, and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for disabilities.


Additional Information: Part-time shifts available Monday through Friday, from 3:00-7:30 PM and 1:30-8:00 PM.
