Job summary

Vestis Corporation is seeking a CDL-A Route Driver to support our McKinney, TX operations. You will safely operate a tractor-trailer, manage routes, communicate with the cleanroom manager, and ensure timely delivery of products to diverse clients.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year of Class A semi-tractor trailer experience, a valid CDL-A, excellent driving record, and compliance with DOT medical certifications. Pay starts at $27 per hour and offers a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operates a company tractor-trailer in designated area to provide products and service to a variety of clients.
  • Confirms route scheduled and details with Market Center Cleanroom Manager.
  • Verifies daily preventative maintenance of vehicle/truck, schedules regular maintenance for tractor/trailer, and maintains proper operator documentation, driver duty status logs, daily vehicle inspections reports, and schedules.
  • Manages daily route to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
  • Monitor customer feedback and handle customer issues in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Loads/unloads product per company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Takes responsibility for personal safety and watches out for the safety of others in the Market Center and across the road transportation.
  • Uses safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment, and adheres to all safe work practices and policies.
  • Knows and adheres to Federal, State, and local highway transportation laws and regulations.
  • Carries at all times the required driving license and medical certification as required by state/federal regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities described above.

Overview:

This is an OTR position. Successful CDL Class A Route Drivers must be able to balance work in a safe and expedient manner with accurately transporting merchandise into and/or out of the cleanroom laundry facility.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Working Environment/Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:
  • Exposure to adverse and varying weather conditions which may include extreme hot/cold temperatures depending on geographical location.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring irregular and long hours.
  • Exposure to odors/fumes, noise, and vibration.
  • Must be able to routinely lift and maneuver a minimum of 25 lbs. and load/unload product from truck without assistance.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and maneuver 50+ lbs., stand/walk while loading and unloading, frequently sit while driving for prolonged periods between locations.
  • Requires the use of hands for grasping and other manipulations.
  • Must be able to occasionally push and pull a force up to 50+ lbs. moving carts and pallets.
  • Requires bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Education:

High school degree or equivalent preferred

License Requirements/ Certifications:

Must be a minimum of 23 years of age, have a valid CDL-A driver’s license, and excellent driving record. Minimum 1-year full time semi-tractor trailer driving experience required. Must meet minimum DMV/MVR points per company policy. Current DOT Medical Certification

Must have at least 1 year in Class A semi driving experience
