Job summary

SP+ in Roanoke, VA is seeking a shuttle bus driver to operate buses, ensuring safe transport and courteous service for passengers. The role requires a valid state driver’s license, ability to perform inspections, and readiness for potential 3rd shift or weekend work.

As part of the team, you’ll assist customers, report incidents, and help maintain the garage area, with opportunity to support cash/valet duties when needed and to navigate the local garage and routes confidently.

Qualifications

• Education: Less than high school or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination.
• Language skills: read, comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, present information one-on-one.
• Physical demands: stand, walk, handle cash and equipment; may lift up to 75 pounds.

• Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
• Possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and maintain it with a current address and acceptable DMV record.
• Assist customers courteously, answer questions, and direct them to the Facility Manager if needed.
• Report accidents, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc., to the garage office.

Responsibilities

Basic Function: Responsible for the proper and safe operation of shuttle buses and transporting passengers.

• Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts and assist disabled passengers.
• Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
• Possess a valid state‑issued driver’s license and maintain it with a current address and acceptable DMV record.
• Assist customers courteously, answer questions, and direct them to the Facility Manager if needed.
• Report accidents, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc., to the garage office.
• Substitute for cashier or valet staff when authorized.
• Have thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage, major streets, landmarks, and freeways nearby.
• Assist customers with luggage and other items, e.g., operating shuttle buses at an airport location.
• Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Less than high school or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination.

• Valid state driver’s license; maintain acceptable DMV record.
• Availability: May be required for 3rd shift and/or weekends.
• Language skills: read, comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, present information one‑on‑one.
• Mathematical skills: add, subtract two‑digit numbers, multiply/divide with tens and hundreds; perform operations using U.S. money units.
• Appearance: maintain a neat, clean appearance; fully uniform at all times.
• Physical demands: stand, walk, handle cash and equipment; occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.
