Sims Metal is seeking a Production & Maintenance Supervisor for the Shredder at our facility. You will oversee daily shredder operations, manage a maintenance program, and drive improvements to minimize downtime while prioritizing safety.

Responsibilities include supervising a team, coordinating repairs, and reporting on production metrics. Strong communication, hands-on supervision, and knowledge of scrap metal operations are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Engineering degree preferred.
• Up to 8 years’ experience supervising employees in a similar scrap handling work or industrial operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day shredder production and supervise the team.
• Coordinate maintenance of shredders and related equipment to minimize downtime.
• Review and compile daily, weekly, monthly, and annual production reports.
• Monitor material flow and yard operations, including truck traffic.
• Lead safety training and ensure procedures are followed for operation and maintenance.
• Update tracking systems reporting production, downtime, wear parts, and recoveries.
