Job summary

Century Showrooms in Washington, DC seeks an experienced showroom sales professional to elevate the interior design buying experience for designers, decorators, and architects. You will actively prospect, greet visitors, respond to inquiries, quote, and finalize orders while maintaining brand integrity.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:This position is responsible for creating sales and cultivating a high-end sales experience for interior designers, decorators and architects. Active sales prospecting (including outside sales calls and industry networking) and client management is paramount; only the highest level of customer service is expected. Individual must be self-motivated and able to respond to multiple, changing priorities as well as help manage projects and create sales presentations. The salesperson must be committed to brand integrity and possess good judgment, positive outlook, flexibility and a sense of humor. This individual must act in part with the showroom team to ensure that all tasks and goals are achieved and surpassed.Position Details:Contributes a minimum 50% of sales effort in surpassing sales goalsGreets all visitors, answers phone/fax/email inquiries; providing required information; quotes, tears and samplesProspects new business, including outside sales calls and industry networkingAssists designers with product knowledge and company procedures in selection and design of custom itemsCommunicates new products and programs to designersUpdates clients catalogs and instructs them as to selling tools (web site) availableCloses sales and writes final order specifications/instructionsIncreases showroom profile through networking effortsProtects and builds the RHF brand as representative of companyEnsures clients specifications are accurately transferred to both Profits & SAP, via proofing orders and confirmationsAssists in follow up of order and provides status updatesManages money and transactions as related to ordersAssists manager protecting inventory, asset and office propertyInterfaces with manager, administrator and CSR to facilitate order processFields client complaints and issues, works with manager to resolutionUnder direction of manager, actively tracks sales volume to achieve sales goalsAssists in daily maintenance of floor, (furniture placement, display, tagging, housekeeping)Assists in annual inventory, price increases, sample sales, and other showroom events/tasksMaintains traffic reportsOversees maintenance of catalog, price pages, sampling and sample areasProvides support for both the manager and administratorPosition Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent, higher education a plusStrong and proven sales experience is required; a furniture and/or design background is preferredExcellent people and communication skillsOrganization, accuracy and memory skills necessaryAbility to manage moneyBasic office computer skills, above average typing skills, knowledge of a POS system a plusPhysical Requirements:The physical demands and work environment expectations described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
