Job summary

Dal-Tile LLC in Portland, OR is seeking a Showroom Design Consultant to advise on interior design and product selection, support customers, and manage day-to-day showroom operations.

You will maintain samples, plan tours and events, and collaborate with teams to drive sales while ensuring displays meet current design standards. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 2-4 years relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide interior design advice and product expertise for customers.
  • Facilitate product selection, project development, and support.
  • Maintain showroom client visits and contact information.
  • Maintain showroom samples, merchandising, and displays.
  • Plan and host showroom tours and industry events to drive sales.
  • Track showroom events, meetings, and customer visits.
  • Act as liaison for customers and teams.
  • Maintain inventory and sample resources and remove discontinued products.
  • Keep product displays aligned with design standards.
  • Collaborate on layouts and provide samples for meetings.
  • Coordinate showroom meetings and events, including catering.
  • Assist with social media for the showroom per brand guidelines.
  • Perform showroom maintenance such as restocking and cleaning.
  • Attend external trade events to build industry relationships.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

The Showroom Design Consultant is an established performer that works to facilitate and support customers and design teams by utilizing strong knowledge of flooring industry practices to help drive and influencing sales decisions. This role will work to manage and maintain the day-to-day activities of the showroom through knowledge of interior design and flooring industry practices and standards to provide expert product selection advice and administrative assistance.

Duties And Responsibilities Of The Position
  • Provide interior design advice and product expertise; facilitate product selection, project development, and support, ensuring the completion of selection for all customers.
  • Maintain recordkeeping for showroom client visits, including customer contact and preference information.
  • Maintain showroom samples and merchandising including ordering, receiving, and maintaining samples and displays.
  • Plan and host showroom tours and events for industry trade to drive customer sales.
  • Maintain and track all showroom events, meetings, industry events, and customer visits.
  • Act as a liaison for customers andteams.
  • Maintain showroom and sample inventory level by coordinating sample orders, maintaining sample resources library, and removing discontinued products.
  • Maintain product displays to support current product selections in line with company design standards.
  • Team with product layouts by providing samples for meetings.
  • Team with coordinating meetings and special events in the showroom, including scheduling catering, entertainment, events, etc.
  • Assist with social media for the showroom as part of the brand strategy while adhering to corporate social media guidelines.
  • Maintain the showroom by performing maintenance such as restocking, cleaning, etc.
  • May attend outside trade events to develop industry relationships and build brand awareness.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience And Education
  • Bachelors degree in a related fieldor equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 2-4 years relevant experienceor equivalent education and/or experience.

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
