Job summary

Dal-Tile LLC is seeking a Showroom Design Consultant to provide interior design guidance, product expertise, and client-focused service in the showroom. You will drive sales by guiding tile and stone selections, maintaining displays, and building relationships with builders and designers.

The role requires outside sales activity, event planning for showroom tours, and participation in industry events. Evening and weekend hours are required; strong design skills and exceptional communication are

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a related field, four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of related experience.
• Competencies: Sales/Customer engagement/Customer service, Design/sketching/reading blueprints/color coordination/interior design trends/customer buying habits/creative thinking.
• Ability to conceptualize innovative solutions and sell them to clients.
• Computer skills include MS Office, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; CRM tools are a plus.
• Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide interior design advice and product expertise to guide tile and stone selection and project development.
• Log all showroom visits, contacts, and preferences in the CRM; communicate with team to follow leads and close sales.
• Prospect for new business with focus on builders and designers; log visits and follow up on leads.
• Maintain showroom samples, merchandising, and vendor relations to align with new product launches.
• Plan and host showroom tours and industry events to drive sales and brand awareness.
• Evening and weekend hours are required.

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Showroom Design Consultant to join our TEAM! As the Showroom Design Consultant, we need someone to provide interior design and product selection advice, product expertise, and thorough follow-up to facilitate customer experience and influence sales/purchasing decisions. Uses the showroom as a selling tool to drive specifications, sales, and brand awareness.

Saturdays are required for this role.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides interior design advice and product expertise, facilitates tile and stone selection, and project development/support, ensuring the completion of selection/sales for all customers.
• Logs all client showroom visits, contact information, and detailed customer preference and selection notes in CMT. Effectively communicates with customers and internal team members to follow the lead and ensure tracking/follow-up and sales closure. Reports sales closures monthly.
• Prospects for new business with an emphasis on Custom Builders and Residential Designers. Makes outside sales calls as needed and follows up on leads to grow and drive business. Logs all customer showroom visits/appointments, contact information, and detailed customer preference and selection notes in CMT.
• Maintains showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining models and displays. Ships customer examples as needed to drive sales. Maintains contact with suppliers/locally sourced vendors to keep current on design and product offerings and complies with Marketings standards for proper showroom merchandising, including new product launches and drops.
• Plans and hosts showroom tours and small and large events for industry trade to drive customer sales. Attends outside trade events to develop industry relationships and build brand awareness.
• Evening and weekend hours are required.

Experience And Knowledge Required

• A four-year degree in a related field, four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of related experience.
• Competencies: Sales/Customer engagement/Customer service, Design/sketching/reading blueprints/color coordination/interior design trends/customer buying habits/creative thinking.
• Ability to approach unfamiliar situations and conceptualize innovative and imaginative solutions easily, using creative skills to document and sell them to clients.
• Computer skills MS Office, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Customer management tools a plus.
• Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with customers, team members, management, and other internal and external customers to build positive interpersonal relationships with various business partners.
