Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor is seeking a Show Wardrobe crew member to build, maintain and repair costumes and wardrobe items for characters, events and productions.

Responsibilities include cleaning and dry-wrapping worn pieces, assisting with show wardrobe operations, fixing minor repairs, handing out costumes, and operating sewing equipment. You will work outdoors in varied weather and support team members in a fast-paced entertainment department.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• Able to work afternoons/evenings until 90 minutes after park close
• Basic sewing, costuming and laundry skills required
• Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Professional, self-motivated with ability to multi-task and enthusiastic
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with others

Responsibilities

• Will clean and dry worn costume pieces and put them in their proper place at the end of the night
• Work with Entertainment Management to assist and shadow with other aspects within the Entertainment Department
• Fix minor repairs on costumes as needed
• Assist with smooth operation of Show Wardrobe including handing out costumes and helping with minor sewing
• Maintain clean and safe atmosphere in all areas of Show Wardrobe
• Navigate in, on, or around scenic elements associated with specific production in potentially dark and restrictive spaces
• Adhere to and enforce all park policies and procedures as outlined in the Seasonal Handbook and the Department Standard Operating Procedure Manual
• Immediately report any unsafe acts to the Show Wardrobe Supervisor
• Operate Industrial and domestic sewing equipment
• Construct special costumes as assigned by the Supervisor
• Train new personnel as needed
