Job summary

Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor is seeking a Show Wardrobe team member to build, maintain, and repair costumes for characters, events, and productions.

You will clean, dry, and store costumes daily, assist with show wardrobe operations, perform minor sewing, and help with costume construction while working outdoors in varied weather conditions. Afternoon/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and dry worn costume pieces and store them properly at the end of the shift.
• Assist and shadow Entertainment Management with other Show Wardrobe tasks.
• Fix minor repairs on costumes as needed.
• Assist with smooth operation of Show Wardrobe, including handing out costumes and minor sewing help.
• Maintain a clean and safe Show Wardrobe environment and storage areas.
• Navigate around scenic production elements in potentially dark spaces.
• Follow park policies and Department SOPs; report unsafe acts immediately.
• Operate sewing equipment used for costume work.
• Construct special costumes as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Train new personnel as needed.

To build, maintain, and repair costumes and wardrobe items for characters, events and productions.

Responsibilities

• Will clean and dry worn costume pieces and put them in their proper place at the end of the night.
• Work with Entertainment Management to assist and shadow with other aspects within the Entertainment Department.
• Fix minor repairs on costumes as needed.
• Assist with smooth operation of Show Wardrobe including handing out costumes and helping with minor sewing.
• Maintain clean and safe atmosphere in all areas of Show Wardrobe. This may include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning up trash, cleaning restrooms, and cleaning the storage/shop area.
• Navigate in, on, or around scenic elements associated with specific production in potentially dark and restrictive spaces.
• Adhere to and enforce all park policies and procedures as outlined in the Seasonal Handbook and the Department Standard Operating Procedure Manual.
• Immediately report any unsafe acts to the Show Wardrobe Supervisor.
• Operate Industrial and domestic sewing equipment.
• Construct special costumes as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Train new personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Age: 18
• Must be able to work during the afternoon/evening till 90 minutes after park close.
• Basic sewing, costuming and laundry skills required
• Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be professional, self-motivated, the ability to multi-task and have an enthusiastic attitude
• Must have strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with others
