Short-Term Substitute Teacher of Special Education: Preschool Early Intervention (Autistic Support)

Position details:

  • Part-time schedule: 7.00 Hours/Day (8:15 am - 3:45 pm), Monday - Friday, 89 Days/Year. Early Intervention follows a stretch calendar that includes a summer session.
  • Minimum Annual Salary: $64,746.00 (Special Ed Teacher)
  • Status: Part-time

Purpose of Position

The teachers of exceptional students are responsible for planning and implementing an effective program of instruction based on students’ Individual Education Programs (IEPs). Teachers report to their respective Program Supervisor.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and active PA certification in Special Education is required.

Essential Physical Requirements

The ability to lift and assist in lifting students aged pre-school to twenty-one, including their assistive devices. Capable of bending, stooping, and squatting. Ability to physically restrain students in emotional distress using approved methods such as Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Safe Crisis Management (SCM), or Quality Behavioral Solutions: Safety-Care Crisis Prevention (QBS), as directed by program needs.
