Job summary

Rue Gilt Groupe is seeking a Short-Term Event Coordinator in New York to support merchandising teams and grow toward a Buyer role. This hybrid position requires 2 days in the office and offers hands-on exposure to PO processing, vendor negotiation, and online boutique curation.

You'll collaborate with buying, planning, production, creative and marketing to maximize sales while gaining experience in logistics with our warehouse and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 0-1 years' experience; internships welcome.
• Experience in event coordination or merchandising is a plus.
• Familiar with purchase order processing and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Generate and track purchase orders for all Rue La La and Gilt boutiques
• Partner with the Fulfillment team to troubleshoot shipping and receiving issues
• Build product assortments with your buyer and influence the styles you see on Rue La La and Gilt
• Select specific products which will be photographed in our on-site studio for on-site Boutiques and marketing materials
• Work collaboratively with Programming, Planning, Boutique Production, Creative and Marketing every day to maximize sales

Title of role: Short-Term Event Coordinator

Location: New York; Hybrid (2 days in the office required) Approved Salary Range:$23-$26hr

About the Role:

We are looking for candidates who want to kick start their merchandising careers with the goal of becoming a Buyer!

The Event Coordinator/Merchandise Assistant will work with our buying teams to produce the most fashionable and desirable merchandise for Rue La La and Gilt. In this role, you will be provided with training and exposure to purchase order processing, vendor negotiation, online boutique curation, and managing logistics with our warehouse and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:
