Job description

Instant Teams is currently hiring a Short-Term Disability Case Manager! In this remote position, you will make timely, accurate, and customer-focused claim decisions and appeals related to Short-Term Disability and Absence Management.

  1. Makes timely, accurate, and customer-focused claim decisions for new and ongoing STD and AM claims; obtains relevant information from clinical, vocational, employer, financial sources; compares information to contractual and procedural documents; and renders decisions promptly.
  2. Documents claims accurately in the system; prepares and updates claims management plans; maintains compliance with regulatory standards; demonstrates proficiency in claims administration; and meets or exceeds operational metrics.
  3. Provides empathetic customer service; builds trust with claimants and employers; anticipates needs and acts accordingly.
  4. Collaborates with internal teams to foster a positive, professional, and high-morale work environment.
  5. Performs additional duties as required.
MUST-HAVES
  • High School Diploma (Bachelor's preferred)
  • 1-2 years of claims experience
  • Knowledge of disability claim management and relevant regulations
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software
  • Customer service skills, stress tolerance, attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make confident decisions
Training
  • Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm EST
  • Duration: 8 weeks
Pay Rate
  • $25 per Hour
Start Date
  • Mid-September 2025
