Job summary

Atlas Copco Group seeks a Shift Supervisor for our Hamburg, NJ manufacturing facility. The role leads shop floor teams, plans production schedules, and drives safety, quality, and continuous improvement on site.

You will mentor direct technicians, implement 5S, oversee training records, and ensure adherence to work instructions and ISO standards while maintaining a productive, safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 year degree in related technique is desired.
  • Supervisory of direct technicians required.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience required.
  • Advanced computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Provide input on work cell requirements to meet goals.
  • Screen candidates for best fit.
  • Plan and manage new hire training.
  • Ensure employees follow work instructions and procedures.
  • Maintain training records.
  • Plan and maintain work schedules.
  • Implement 5S-Organization system for a cleaner workspace.
  • Ensure safety training and certifications are completed.
  • Ensure ISO standards are understood and followed.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

The shift Supervisor position serves to provide shop floor supervision and leadership to direct reports, including leads as applicable.

Hiring:
  • Provide input on work cell requirements to meet goals.
  • Screen candidates for best fit.
Training:
  • Plan and manage new hire training.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and follow work instructions and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records.
Work Planning & Scheduling:
  • Plan and maintain work schedules.
  • Ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
  • Assign tasks outside of the normal schedule as needed.
Shop Organization:
  • Implement 5S-Organization system for a cleaner, more efficient workspace.
  • Remove unnecessary items from the workspace.
  • Arrange and label necessary items for easy access.
  • Keep the workspace clean and standardized.
  • Maintain proper procedures consistently.
Safety:
  • Ensure team members complete necessary safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure use of protective equipment.
  • Ensure safety equipment is functional (e.g., fire extinguishers, eye wash stations).
Quality:
  • Ensure team members understand and meet ISO standards.
  • Ensure all work meets Trillium quality directives.
Standards:
  • Ensure team members are trained and understand written standards.
  • Verify knowledge of work instructions.
  • Ensure all work complies with written standards.
Other Duties:
  • Conduct business safely and professionally.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Undertake miscellaneous projects and tasks.
To succeed, you will need
Qualifications:
  • 2-4 year degree in related technique desired
  • Supervisory of direct technicians required
  • Lean Manufacturing experience required
  • Advanced Computer Literacy (Outlook Email, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret written documents
  • Ability to interpret technical charts and drawings
  • Ability to respond in a professional manner to common inquiries
