Job summary

This welding/fabrication position is based in the Springfield area, focusing on layout, fit-up, and welding of fabricated, cast, and forged components for tanks and assemblies. Safety-sensitive work requires precision and adherence to approved procedures.

You will read blueprints, set up equipment, perform MIG/TIG/flux/core/stick welds, document steps, and assist supervisors as needed. Candidates must pass specified weld tests and demonstrate blueprint-reading skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass 0808GT16-2 weld test and 0808GM31-1 (short-arc) and 0808GM33-1 (pulse) processes.
• Ability to read cut sheets, blueprints, and tape measures.
• Knowledge of welding/grinding procedures and safe operation of fabricating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble parts or tanks with supervision.
• Aligns and fits parts, moves parts into position, and secures parts for welding.
• Verifies conformance of workpieces to specifications and prepares completed work for review by supervisors.
• Sets up and operates fabricating machines and welding equipment.
• Welds parts and tank seams using MIG, TIG, Flux, Core, stick, and tack processes.
• Completes manufacturing documentation in a timely manner.
• Supports supervision and performs other duties as needed.
