Job summary

Southland Holdings in Burleson, TX is seeking an experienced Shop Welder/Fabricator for our Burleson, TX Facility. You will weld pipe, templates, trench boxes, and steel components, read fabrication drawings, and work with ARC and MIG processes.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 150 lbs, willingness to work overtime, pass a pre-employment test, and maintain a strong safety mindset while contributing to heavy equipment fabrication and field repairs.

Qualifications

• Stick (ARC) and wire (MIG), pipe, beam fabrication and fitting, ability to pass pre-employment Weld Test
• Must have a good work ethic and be able to adjust to change, lead by example, and be a team player
• Must be able to rig/lift heavy parts safely with forklifts/overhead cranes
• Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain and work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to work overtime and stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift 50-90 lbs frequently and up to 150 lbs with assistance
• Must pass post offer drug screen

Responsibilities

• Welding pipe, templates, trench boxes, steel piles and related equipment repairs
• Read and follow fabrication drawings and specifications from Engineering
• Operate ARC and MIG welding units effectively
• Fabricate new or replacement parts for equipment and structural applications
• Assemble components using hand and small power tools
• Maintain weld quality and adjust arc speed for penetration
• Prepare pieces by grinding or cutting and clean work area daily
• Work with crews as directed and attend established schedules
