TRP Infrastructure Services seeks a dependable, hands-on Shop & Warehouse Technician to support our shop, fleet, equipment and field crews. You will keep the shop and yard organized, assist with maintenance, and help prepare trucks and equipment for each shift.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Keep shop, warehouse, yard, storage areas and outdoor spaces clean, safe and organized.
• Assist Lead Mechanic with routine shop tasks, maintenance, repairs and parts handling.
• Prepare trucks and equipment for shifts and load/unload materials for projects.
• Stage, load, unload, and secure equipment and supplies on trucks; help with proper load placement.
• Operate a forklift to move materials and equipment as needed.
• Receive deliveries, verify items, inspect for damage, and store materials correctly.
• Maintain orderly inventory of materials, tools and shop supplies.
• Support crews by provisioning equipment, tools and materials for projects.
• Unload and clean equipment on return; report missing items or damage promptly.
• Keep tools and equipment in assigned locations and replenish items as directed.
• Perform general facility and yard upkeep to maintain a safe work environment.
• Support mechanics, field crews and operations with shop- and warehouse-related tasks.

Job description

TRP Infrastructure Services provides pavement marking, traffic control and permanent roadway safety installations. We are seeking a dependable, hands‑on Shop & Warehouse Technician to support our shop, fleet, equipment and field crews. This position works closely with the Lead Mechanic and operations team to keep the shop and yard organized, trucks and equipment prepared, materials moving, and crews ready for each shift.

What you will do

• Keep the shop, warehouse, yard, storage areas and outdoor work areas clean, safe and organized.
• Assist the Lead Mechanic with routine shop tasks, preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment cleaning, parts, tools and other mechanical support as directed.
• Clean, organize and prepare trucks and equipment before crew shifts so they are ready for the day or night's work.
• Stage, load and unload equipment, tools, materials and supplies on trucks and trailers; assist with proper load placement and securement.
• Safely operate a forklift to move, load, unload and organize materials and equipment.
• Receive deliveries, verify quantities and items, inspect for visible damage, and place materials, parts and supplies in the proper location.
• Maintain orderly inventory of materials, parts, tools, equipment and shop supplies so items can be located quickly.
• Help crews get equipment, tools and materials loaded and ready before they leave for a project.
• Assist crews when they return by unloading, cleaning, organizing and putting away equipment, tools and unused materials.
• Check returned trucks and equipment for cleanliness, missing items, visible damage or maintenance needs and report issues promptly.
• Keep truck cabs, beds, boxes and storage areas clean and organized and replenish commonly used items as directed.
• Pick up and deliver parts, materials, tools and supplies as needed using company vehicles.
• Keep tools and shop equipment in their assigned locations and report damaged, missing or low‑stock items.
• Perform general facility and yard upkeep, including cleanup, waste removal and other housekeeping tasks needed to maintain a safe work environment.
• Support the mechanic, field crews and operations team with other shop- and warehouse-related duties as needed.

What success looks like

• Crews leave for work with clean, organized trucks and the equipment, tools and materials they need.
• The shop and yard stay clean, orderly and safe without someone having to constantly point out what needs attention.
• Equipment, tools, parts and materials are easy to find and are returned to the correct location.
• The Lead Mechanic and operations team can rely on you to follow through and help keep daily shop operations moving.

Work environment

This is an active, hands‑on position that includes work in the shop, warehouse, yard and outdoor facility areas. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, loading and unloading in a working shop environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, construction, automotive, equipment, fleet or other hands‑on work environment is preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn from the Lead Mechanic and other experienced team members.
• A dependable work ethic, strong follow-through and the ability to work without constant supervision.
• Good organization skills and attention to detail, especially when staging equipment, handling materials and maintaining inventory.
• The ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly with mechanics, field crews, supervisors and vendors.
• A safety‑first mindset and the ability to follow established procedures for equipment, material handling and shop operations.
• The ability to safely lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform active work throughout the shift.

Successful completion of a drug screening, background check and motor vehicle record review is required.
