Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician based in Monroe, OH. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair a large fleet of light to heavy trucks and equipment, performing routine maintenance and documenting all work to meet safety and productivity goals.

The role emphasizes safe operations, hands-on repairs, and collaboration with managers. Day shift 7:00–3:30 with potential overtime and Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in diesel technology or heavy equipment mechanics preferred.
• 5 years of experience preferred.
• Position based in Monroe, OH; Day shift 7:00–3:30 with overtime/Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safety first and DOT/MSHA/OSHA compliance.
• Repair, maintain and service fuel, exhaust, cooling, AC, engine, transmission, drivetrain and brakes.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on the fleet of trucks and equipment.
• Document issues and repairs and communicate needs to management.
• Assist heavy equipment mechanics on large projects.

Job Description

Inspect, diagnose and repair a large fleet of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all vehicles. Document issues and repair work along with communicating well with managers on needs to meet safety, quality, and productivity expectations. This will also include a wide range of equipment repair and maintenance.

Pay: $32 - $36 an hour

Responsibilities

• Safety First - Must have a personal commitment to safety 24/7.
• Repair, maintain and service fuel systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, AC systems, engine, transmission, drivetrain, and brakes for on/ off road vehicles- per DOT and MSHA/OSHA requirements
• Communicate any equipment maintenance concerns in a timely manner.
• Quality repairs while taking ownership in your work.
• Perform inspections along with annual DOT inspections.
• Willing to assist heavy equipment mechanics on large projects and perform small repairs while onsite.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated.
• Able to climb in, on and around equipment.
• Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Able to communicate well with operations and meet their needs.
• Possess the ability to read and understand Equipment Maintenance Manuals
• Must be responsible, reliable, and willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Need to have excellent communication skills, a good work ethic and a positive attitude.
• This is a Day shift position 7am-3:30pm
• The ability to work overtime and Saturdays
• This position is based out of Monroe OH,
• Must be able to maintain an active company driver's license.

Experience/Skills

• Technical experience preferred, training available.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems.
• Computer skills and use of diagnostic tools
• Knowledge of specialized tooling
• Welding and heavy equipment knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose aftertreatment emission system.
• Basic welding skills desired
• Crane knowledge a plus
• Desire to take on new challenges
• Small engine repair desired

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

* Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred

* 5 years of experience preferred
