H&E Rentals has an immediate opening for a Shop Mechanic. Our ideal Shop Mechanic is one that is looking to grow their career personally, professionally, and financially.

H&E Rentals Shop Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on different forms of aerial and earthmoving heavy equipment. Training is provided.

Shop Mechanic Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical problems, including engines, transmissions, and other essential components of heavy machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, ensuring proper functioning of equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, addressing fuel systems, exhaust, and emissions issues.
• Implement preventive maintenance procedures to extend equipment lifespan and prevent breakdowns.
• Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including parts used and work performed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Factory, vocational, or mechanical training is a plus.
• Experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, and compactors.
