Job summary

DNOW is seeking a Shop Hand to oversee daily pump shop operations, assist mechanics and ensure quality. The role involves finishing, assembling, installing and testing components across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fluid and pneumatic systems.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, hand tool experience, ability to read a tape measure, and the capability to lead others with strong communication and organizational skills. 40+ hour weeks may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Experience with hand tools such as drills, grinders and sanders.
• Ability to lead others and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
• Basic computer skills and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Finish, assemble, install and test components and assemblies across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fluid and pneumatic systems.
• Clean, sand, cut, bend, deburr, paint and polish products.
• Assist in testing components and systems for proper operation.
• Maintain accurate inspection paperwork and documentation.
• Follow procedures and maintain high-quality standards.
• Keep work area and tools organized and clean; perform housekeeping.
• Paint and sandblast products; thread conduit and pipe.
• Inspect products with appropriate inspection equipment.
• Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week as needed.
• Collaborate as a team member and support other teams; follow company policies.
• Represent the Pipe Shop in staff meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
