Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a Shop Tech in Carlsbad, NM to maintain shop machinery and keep the facility clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. You will assist in maintaining workflow, organizing materials and finished goods, and performing routine maintenance for the facility.

The role emphasizes safe operation in a hazardous shop environment; a High School diploma or GED is required. You will work with a team and support various shop tasks, from fabrication support to yard duties

Qualifications

• Equivalent work experience in a shop environment will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE as required.
• Mechanical: Assist in mechanical maintenance and repair; service and clean shop equipment; replace worn parts.
• Fabrication: Assist Welder/Fabricator Specialists with welding; participate in pipe and plate fabrication; operate materials and paint as needed.
• Maintenance: Keep shop clean and organized; move materials and equipment; replace light bulbs and filters; inspect fire extinguishers; maintain MSDS books.
• Yard: Keep yard organized; assist in disposal and recycling of outdated equipment and materials.
• Other: Building and grounds maintenance; assist in records management and supply runs.
• Problem Resolution: Address routine problems and schedule interruptions.
• Performance: Perform duties per instructions and work with diverse teams.
