This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication.

Responsibilities
  • Repair equipment and components, developing repair plans and sequences.
  • Determine necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
  • Perform repairs safely and properly, including quality assurance testing.
  • Maintain and complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, service reports, and work orders.
  • Communicate repair progress with supervisors.
  • Manage parts and tools through the company's systems.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, care for tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
Education, Experience, Skills

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands

The role requires sitting, standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, and communicating. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, weather extremes, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
