This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

  1. Repair equipment and components, including:
  2. Developing repair plans and sequences
  3. Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
  4. Performing repairs safely and correctly, with proper quality assurance testing of repairs and systems
  5. Complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, service reports, and work orders in a timely manner
  6. Communicate repair progress with supervisor as required
  7. Manage parts and materials through the company’s parts system
  8. Handle special tools and maintain shop equipment properly
  9. Use company vehicle and fuel cards responsibly
  10. Maintain a safe and clean work area
  11. Keep tools and equipment in good condition
  12. Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; or an Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or four years of apprenticeship experience. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling and feeling. Also required to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme cold/heat, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
