Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in West Fargo, ND is seeking a Shop Technician I to support Reman Drivetrain. The role involves basic assembly/disassembly, reading work instructions, and using tools to ensure quality in a manufacturing setting.
You will work on the 2nd shift (4:15PM-2:45AM) with a 7% night shift premium, and you’ll contribute to a safe, efficient production environment while growing your skills within Caterpillar Remanufacturing.
Qualifications

- Ability to read/write and interpret standard work instructions.
- Must possess ability to learn new tasks and use tools safely.
Responsibilities
- Utilize PinPoint, CRDL Production Systems and Teams Forms for tasks.
- Perform basic assembly and disassembly operations.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, gauges and presses to meet specs.
- Operate overhead cranes/hoists and/or electric pallet jacks as needed.
- Take part in CI/PID process and follow production schedules.

- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Job related experience in a manufacturing environment, including hoist operations preferred
- Must possess ability to learn new tasks and able to read/write and interpret standard work instructions
- Required to utilize various computer systems such as PinPoint, CRDL Production Systems and Teams Forms.
- Effectively perform basic assembly and disassembly operations
- Ability to effectively and efficiently use hand tools, power tools, gauges, presses, torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to ensure conformance to quality specifications
- Ability to safely use overhead cranes/hoists and/or electric pallet jacks to move parts in and out of area
- Use precision measuring devices to effectively assemble and/or disassemble final product
- Participate in the CI/PID process
- Actively listen and follow directions provided to you
- Ability to work independently with support from Team Leads and Section Manager
- Ability to understand labeling and flow of work in progress
- Ability to understand and follow SWI’s and daily Production Schedules
- Ability to adhere to facility policies to include good attendance and company values
- Any duties or tasks that may be assigned to promote cross training or support for various areas of the shop
- Other duties as assigned

- Follow established facility safety policies, safe job procedures and hazardous risk assessments and using the proper Personal Protective equipment for the specific job being performed
- Work with variety of employees throughout the day to effectively communicate needs and to perform job related tasks
- Proven ability to work in a team setting

- Ensure customer requirements are met
- Conduct business with the highest level of honesty and integrity
- Ability to Interface with plant management, supervisors and production personnel
- Hourly Pay Range: $20.53 - $26.13 (salary negotiations to be offered based on skills/experience)
- 2nd shift Work Hours: 4:15PM - 2:45AM
- 2nd shift will receive an additional 7% night shift premium.
- Monday - Thursday with occasional overtime on Fridays
- 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime
- 80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)
