Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Shop Technician Level 1 to support equipment maintenance, inspections, and shop upkeep. The role requires a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined individual with safety and continuous improvement in mind.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years in a shop setting, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must hold a valid driver’s license and the listed certifications. Salary ranges are provided and align with field duties.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience working in a shop environment.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to apply mechanical knowledge effectively.
• Effective communication (written & verbal), analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Organized, dependable, and action-oriented.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform routine facility and yard upkeep.
• Utilize SiteDocs daily to complete required safety and maintenance forms.
• Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining RCD equipment.
• Keep accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Support the shipping and receiving process for MPD/RCD equipment.
• Assist in receiving vendor orders and verifying shipments.
• Deliver and/or pick up supplies from vendors as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks and service on RCD equipment.
• Maintain company-issued tools and develop skills in their use.
• Provide support to the Shop Foreman and Operations Team with maintenance tasks.
