Spherion Staffing & Recruiting in Minnesota is hiring a heavy duty truck & trailer Shop Technician to handle custom upfitting, routine maintenance, and heavy trailer repair for vocational equipment in the Cloquet area.

You will diagnose and repair complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, perform preventative maintenance, and document work orders. Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills, physical stamina, and a good work ethic are required; weekends off with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance skills on heavy trucks or trailers.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and demanding mechanical tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Upfit heavy trucks with complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components for specialized industrial, dump, and logging applications.
• Perform routine fleet maintenance and preventative care on side dumps, live bottoms, dry vans, logging trailers, and other vocational trailers.
• Diagnose, repair, or replace pumps, valves, controls, and other vital chassis and trailer components.
• Conduct detailed mechanical inspections and accurately complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Provide quality service by communicating clearly with team members and addressing technical inquiries.

Role Type: Direct Hire

Starting Pay: $32-38/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

What You'll Do:

• Upfit heavy trucks with complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components for specialized industrial, dump, and logging applications.

What We're Looking For:

Bonus Points:

• 5+ years of dedicated trailer repair experience.
• 5+ years of heavy truck repair experience.
• Hands-on experience with dump boxes, hook lifts, custom flatbeds, or logging equipment.
