Job summary

Total Safety is seeking a Shop Tech in La Porte, TX to maintain shop machinery and keep facilities clean and compliant with safety standards. You will assist in keeping materials and finished goods organized, support in mechanical and fabrication tasks, and help sustain a safe, efficient shop environment.

The role involves routine maintenance, PPE use, and collaboration with a safety‑minded team to ensure smooth operations and adherence to company policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Equivalent work experience in a shop environment will be considered.
• Must be self-motivated, flexible, and able to meet deadlines.
• Work is typically performed in the shop, which is a hazardous environment.

Responsibilities

• Safety: maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE as required.
• Mechanical: assist in mechanical maintenance and repair, service and clean equipment.
• Fabrication: assist Welders with welding, participate in fabrication and painting.
• Maintenance: clean and organize shop, move materials, replace light bulbs and filters.
• Yard: keep yard organized and dispose of outdated equipment.
• Other: building and grounds maintenance, records management, and supplies.
• Problem Resolution: handle routine problems and interruptions.
• Performance: follow instructions and work with diverse people.
