Modesto City Schools is seeking a skilled maintenance supervisor with strong automotive/mechanical experience to oversee a team responsible for the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of supervisory experience, and a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a California Class B CDL within 60 days.
The ideal candidate will have trade apprenticeship or 48 months of automotive repair experience, plus the ability to
Work experience necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position; Completion of an apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic or forty-eight (48) months experience as a general automotive repairperson acquired through an accredited apprenticeship program; Three (3) years of supervisory experience in the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of mechanical equipment; High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate; Class C driver’s license holders are eligible to apply; however, if selected, the candidate must obtain a Class B license (Valid California Commercial Driver’s License – Class B with Air Brake and Passenger endorsement to be obtained within the first sixty (60) days of employment); Valid medical examiner’s certificate issued in accordance with the Motor Carrier safety regulations of the Department of Motor Vehicles; Department of Transportation Power Industrial Truck Operator’s Permit to be obtained within the first sixty (60) days of employment; Must provide a DMV printout within five (5) workdays of offer of employment.
