Job summary

Celeros Flow Technology in Houston, TX is hiring a Shop Superintendent to supervise our 2nd shift workforce of up to 40 employees who work the hours of 1:30pm - 10:00pm. You will lead assembly, test and paint processes to meet customer requirements for products and services delivered by the plant safely and efficiently.

The role drives continuous improvement in productivity, quality, customer and employee satisfaction, and execution to meet plant profitability goals.

Qualifications

  • 3 years supervisory/lead experience with highly engineered products (valve manufacturing preferred).
  • 2 years lean manufacturing experience.
  • 4 years technical education degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 5 years valve manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Email & Calendar system.
  • Experience with nuclear, control, gate, globe, checks, surge, 4-way valves and Desuperheaters preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and accountability in your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, monitor compliance to legislative and plant regulations.
  • Ship product at required volumes and quality levels, and on time to meet customer dates.
  • Oversee paint criteria per customer or API procedures and requirements.
  • Supervise interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Grow a cross trained production workforce and address safety initiatives.
  • Identify and complete initiatives to improve safety, waste elimination, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with functions to identify, correct, and improve product quality via NCR.

This position will supervise our entire 2nd shift workforce of up to 40 employees who work the hours of 1:30pm - 10:00pm.

Pay Range:The base pay range for this position is $100,000 - 115,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

The Shop Superintendent is responsible for leading all processes associated with the execution of assembly, test, and paint to meet customer requirements for products and services delivered by the plant safely and efficiently. The Shop Superintendent will drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and execution to meet plant profitability goals.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and accountability in your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, monitor compliance to legislative and plant regulations and ensure correction of any no-conformances.
  • Ship product at required volumes and at the required quality levels, and on time to meet customer requirement dates.
  • Ensure all products undergo and successfully pass the required paint criteria as specified by the customer or as part of plant or API procedures and requirements.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and performing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Continue to grow a cross trained production work force well informed and skilled.
  • Identify, participate in, and ensure completion of initiatives to improve safety, eliminate waste, and support cost reduction requirements.
  • Work with appropriate functions to identify, correct, and improve product quality issues by being an active participant in the NCR process, ensuring compliance to all Quality standards and customer requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of valve manufacturing and assembly, test and paint.
  • Process-minded and logical thinker.
  • Able to deal with pressure and effectively deliver targets.
  • Project management experience and ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, decision-making and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to successfully communicate and develop positive relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge ofSAP; Spreadsheet software (Excel) and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Strong Change Management skills – managing change through stakeholders, bringing people along, communication and education.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business requirements.
Education and Experience
  • 3 years supervisory/lead experience with highly engineered products (valve manufacturing preferred).
  • 2 years working knowledge of lean Manufacturing experience.
  • 4 years technical education degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 5 years' valve manufacturing experience.
  • Experienced with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Email & Calendar system.
  • Experience with nuclear, control, gate, globe, checks, surge, 4-way valves and Desuperheaters preferred.
