The Shop Service Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various types of mobile rental/construction equipment and on-highway trucks. The ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems including the use of OEM software and other diagnostic tools is essential. Experience servicing and repairing on-highway trucks including diesel engines and brakes is a requirement.
This position is performed primarily in a heavy equipment repair shop and outdoors, where employees are exposed to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, grease, vibration, and other environmental conditions associated with heavy equipment and truck maintenance. The Shop Service Technician regularly works around moving machinery, powered equipment, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical components, and other shop hazards while adhering to strict safety procedures and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting heavy components, as well as the ability to safely operate equipment and use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and OEM software. Technicians must maintain constant awareness of their surroundings and work safely in a fast-paced environment where multiple repair activities may be occurring simultaneously.
