Job summary

Leif Johnson Ford is seeking a dependable Shop Porter to help keep the Service Department clean, safe, and organized. You will be responsible for maintaining technician work areas, the shop, and surrounding service areas in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate takes pride in workplace cleanliness, self-motivation, and can complete duties without constant supervision. This on-site, full-time role includes basic shop-maintenance tasks and safety responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive throughout the shift.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical work.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, push, pull, and carry approximately 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Previous porter, janitorial, automotive, warehouse, or maintenance experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep and clean technician work areas and shop floors throughout the day.
  • Empty trash cans in the service shop, technician areas, and other assigned areas.
  • Dispose of trash and waste in the appropriate dumpsters or designated locations.
  • Replace trash can liners as needed.
  • Clean up spills, debris, cardboard, and other materials from the shop.
  • Keep walkways, work areas, and common areas clean and free of hazards.
  • Break down and dispose of cardboard boxes.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness around shop equipment and workstations.
  • Keep dumpsters and trash collection areas organized.
  • Help maintain clean entrances, service drive areas, and exterior areas when needed.
  • Notify management of spills, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance concerns.
  • Assist Service Department management with other basic shop-maintenance duties as assigned.

Shop Porter – Service Department

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Shop Porter to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized Service Department. This position is responsible for keeping the technician work areas, shop, and surrounding service areas clean throughout the day.


The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes pride in keeping the workplace clean, and can complete assigned duties without constant supervision.

Expectations

The Shop Porter is expected to continuously monitor the Service Department for trash, debris, spills, and other cleanliness concerns rather than waiting to be directed to each individual task. Compensation


  • Hourly position

  • Pay: $17per hour

  • Schedule: Full-time

  • Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and paid time off for eligible employees.
