Job summary

J.D. Abrams, LP is seeking a Shop Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain our equipment fleet and concrete batch plant in Austin, TX.

The role supports the Equipment Manager and involves disassembling and replacing engine components, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and maintaining service records. Strong lubrication and preventive maintenance skills are expected, with diesel experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Diagnose, repair and maintain equipment fleet and concrete batch plant.
• Disassemble, repair and replace components on engines and plants.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems with guidance from lead mechanic.
• Must have diploma or equivalent; diesel experience preferred; training available.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities Listed Below

• Disassembles, repairs, removes, and replaces components in gasoline engines, diesel engines, and concrete batch plant
• Helps the lead mechanic troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
• Lubricates and services vehicles, equipment or machinery and maintains accurate record of such service
• Requests repair parts and lubrication supplies as needed

Specific Equipment and Materials to be used

Operate hand tools to repair equipment or machinery

Safety Policies and Practices

The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience and Training

Diesel experience desired, but we will train if needed, certificate from college or technical school; or twelve months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
