Job summary

Central United Cooperative is seeking a fleet mechanic to perform tasks to the Service Manager's standards and help maintain fleet and equipment. The role involves interacting with patrons and employees to build loyalty and support for the cooperative.

The candidate should have post high school training in small engine and auto mechanics with 3+ years of hands-on experience, including gasoline/diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Experience in an agricultural setting is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands on mechanical experience, gasoline/diesel engines preferred.
• Hydraulic experience is helpful.
• General electrical experience desirable.
• Agricultural/agribusiness background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned tasks to standards set by the Service Manager.
• Helps maintain fleet and equipment.

• Completes tasks efficiently and correctly the first time to minimize re-work.
• Follows safety rules and company policies, attends trainings as required.
• Assists with DOT inspections alongside truck and pickup repairs.

Primary Objectives of the Position:

1. 1. Performs assigned tasks to the standards established by the Service Manager.
2. 2. Helps maintain fleet and equipment.
3. 3. Communicates with patrons and employees in a manner that will create support and loyalty for Central United Cooperative.

Major Areas of Accountability:

1. 1. Completes all tasks in a time efficient manner.
2. 2. Completes all tasks correctly the first time- keeps re-work to a minimum.
3. 3. Works safely.
4. 4. Records time accurately on all work orders.
5. 5. Assists in resolving customer complaints quickly and fairly in accordance with company policies. Refers unusual situations to Service Manager.
6. 6. Complies with all laws and regulations that apply to the department.
7. 7. Attends appropriate training sessions as part of programs of continuing education.
8. 8. Assists in DOT inspections along with truck and pickup repairs.
9. 9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education Requirements:

1. 1. Post high school training at the college or vocational level with emphasis on small engine mechanics and auto mechanics.
2. 2. Experience may be substituted for education.

Experience Requirements:

1. 1. 3+ years hands on mechanical experience- gasoline/ diesel engine experience preferred
