About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Store Manager to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You will act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, motivating your team to maximize sales and fundraising targets. Your store will serve as a community hub where people can meet our team, learn about our work, and see the impact of our efforts.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead, inspire, and engage a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development.
2. Manage the day-to-day operations of the store, including display, merchandising, stock management, and maintaining store standards.
3. Drive sales and income through effective store management and customer service.
4. Organize and run creative fundraising events to meet targets.
5. Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, and HR policies.
6. Build relationships with the local community and colleagues.
7. Maintain a safe, welcoming environment and support the wellbeing of staff and volunteers.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in managing and inspiring diverse teams.
• Ability to work within targets and motivate others to achieve them.
• Strong customer service skills and knowledge of retail, especially high street fashion.
• Adaptability to changing situations and independent working skills.
• Understanding of item valuation and pricing.
• Flexibility to work on a rota basis to meet store needs.
